FilmEd - Film Education in Europe, Barcelona, June 2014

On 11 and 12 June 2014, the workshop "FilmEd Learning Experiences" about Film Education in Europe, took place in the "Filmoteca de Catalunya".

Different Spanish and international contributions on the subject of "Film Education" allowed the participants an insight about successful or less successful practices in their countries.

A big concern to many participants was the (re) distribution of European films. In terms of film education, various people considered that the creative production of films should be enhanced internationally, with not the quantity but the process of film production is essential.

In summary, it became clear that cinema can integrate everything, is a cultural element, represents a part of the identity of a nation and thereby provides opportunities to create  cosmopolitan citizens, which is why movies and film education in schools is very important.
